Research Goal
Mailchimp is the #1 email marketing and automations platform (December 2023) with over 11 million users worldwide. After the acquisition by Intuit, our research program experienced a rapid expansion that required more structure in order to synchronously grow. I was brought onto Intuit Mailchimp to build out this program with a goal of democratizing our strategy to employees of all Intuit subsidiaries. The automation of our recruitment process would help manage the influx of research requests along with providing more opportunities. My work has helped product teams throughout the Intuit workspace with optimizing their independent recruitment efforts:

The comprehensive list of resources that I built, included streamlined research strategies, have resulted in an approximated 85% increase in complete self-service autonomy from product teams.
Below are some of the projects that I have created or worked on to build out our program:
Research Cheat Sheet
I built a reference guide (as an idea developed through sync meetings with our Design Leadership Team) to include a component breakdown of our moderated and unmoderated studies with links to all relevant resources. In the top left corner of the Sheet, I have linked our Research Communications Template (see below), our Recruitment Playbook and our Customer Insights Pathway…
Customer Insights Pathway
I built this resource within Miro as a fully detailed decision tree designed to guide product teams in their research formulations. This pathway includes the prerequisites for all of our user study types along with links for all relevant resources. The beginning of the map provides preliminary repositories that teams can cross-check their research questions with prior to conducting a study. Afterwards, the map divides into our different types of participants. Once a researcher chooses a user segment, they will then be prompted to decide between the type of research they are looking to acquire. This decision guides them to the proper study methodology with hyperlinks for our study tools, messaging templates, contact channels, search query template and necessary participant forms. The plan for this pathway is to embed this in our research recruitment hub and link it to our other research document guides.
Workflows for Individual Compensation Trackers
My goal for this project was to further automate our compensation request process. In order to create participant request tracking systems for each research team, I created multiple workflows in Qualtrics that would auto populate a request list directly to each research team’s associated hub. This would allow researchers to have a record of only their participant compensation requests while protecting the confidentiality of other participants throughout our program.

Participant Tracker
I created a participant tracker in Sheets to help our product and research teams keep us aligned on their progress with the study participants.

Recruitment Comms Template
I updated our communications template for teams to use when conducting outreach to our users. Each section of the directory is hyperlinked to messaging that has been optimized through the highest response rates.

Follow Me Home
Along with a few members of our UXR team, I worked to revitalize and restructure Mailchimp’s in-person research program. Initially, I began compiling background information on our previous method structure.
